Almost everyone knows Brigham Young had 15 wives (or 16 depending on your sources). These fine women bore him 56 children. –But no one on earth can tell you how many posterity Brother Brigham has today. They may.have a few good guesses. But no one has been counting since the 40s.

There may only be one organization who can say with any certainty the number of descendants their progenitor has within a 2% margin of error: The Ezra T. Clark Family Association aka Organization.

The last time anyone counted Ezra's posterity was a relatively recent July, 1972. At this point in time, there were almost 3,000 descendants. If we extrapolate that number with average birth rates for Utah, the United States and the world, we can arrive at an accurate figure based on set population trends over these three groups and safely assume Ezra has at least 50,000 posterity and up to 100,000. The exact number lies somewhere in the middle. The amazing thing is we can actually find it based on the data we have currently. The other thing is the number will likely be low. DNA tells us we have many previously unknown cousins.
