My Dad always had one BIG dream: Restore the old Ezra T. Clark home and property to its former glory. When he purchased it in the late 60s, it had been divided into three apartments quite nicely. A result of 3 entrances and neat 3 sections, each with its own front and back entrances.
Over the next 40 years, my parents would diligently raise 9 children: 8 boys and one girl in this old house. Most of the time it looked like an episode of the same name. –with at least one room in repair or under renovation.
Above the mantle always hung the steely-eyed Ezra & Mary Family portrait. One girl, 8 boys. What I didn't know is that Mary's oldest had died returning fom his mission and that Elizabeth had married and divorced twice. Polygamy was a lot harder than Ezra, Mary and Susan and Nancy mad it look. Marriage was hard enough.
