Horace Wells Clark was born on 23 March 1882 to Ezra Thompson and Susan Leggett Clark. He was the youngest child of Ezra and Susan. In 1897 he lived with his sister Laura, Timothy’s daughter, Clara, and his twins, Louise and Minerva in a rented place in Salt Lake City while he and Laura went to school. His father Ezra, died 1901. The next year while living in Salt Lake City his mother Susan, died in November 1902 from pneumonia.
Horace served a mission and afterwards worked for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company in Salt Lake City where he met Janetta Benzon. On 12 December 1907 he married Janetta Benzon in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City. Later he moved his family to Farmington and becoming associated with the Davis County Bank. In 1925 he moved his family from Clearfield to Ogden. He was a salesman of the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Ogden when he passed away at a local hospital the age of 53 from a four-day illness with pneumonia. Horace was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the father of six children.
